Since the beginning of time, twelve Guardians watched over the planet, its inhabitants and life force. Reborn many times over, the Guardians’ most important duty is to serve as spiritual guides to many warriors who perform heroic deeds throughout history. Eighty-five years ago, the Guardians mysteriously disappeared, just when the threat of a Holy War began to rise. In dire need of a new breed of warriors, the last remaining Water Guardian emerged from her shelter to recruit five women: an acolyte from a dying clan of powerful seers, a holy squire protected by a sentimental scientist, a lost dark elf seeking refuge in the Mercenary Guild, and twin sisters: a monk-in-training and a rising minstrel.

A turn-based RPG that is loosely based on the 17th century corrido written by José de la Cruz, Adarna follows the journey of Prince Juan and his two older brothers, Princes Pedro and Diego. The King of Berbanya has fallen sick and the only cure for his disease is a song from the legendary Adarna Bird. One by one, the older brothers set off in search for the creature but the years pass by without them returning. Juan then decides to take matters into his own hands and convinces his parents — afraid for their remaining son — to let him go on the same quest.

 

 

Mathoria: It All Adds Up aims to help young schoolchildren practice their addition skills while going on a fun role-playing ride throughout the Island of Additio. Older players can enjoy its RPG elements as well.
